Many women live with pain, incontinence, and the reduced ability to carry out daily activities, work, and recreation. They believe these impairments are the consequence of life changes such as pregnancy, menopause, or aging, and that little can be done. The Human Performance Center’s staff includes physical therapists who understand women’s unique anatomy and physiology and have specialized training to deal with the challenges of women’s health. How we can help…
A personalized program
You will receive a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation, which includes postural analysis, flexibility and strength testing, muscle and joint mobility assessment, functional performance testing, and identification of pain sources. The evaluation might also include testing the strength, coordination, and integrity of your pelvic floor muscles. An individualized plan of care will be developed based on these findings, and goals will be established by you and your therapist. Treatment interventions may include: Muscle re-education using biofeedback Therapuetic exercise for improved strength and flexibility Myofascial release and soft tissue and joint mobilization Postural education Spinal and pelvic malalignment corrections Bladder retraining Modalities for pain control.

What to expect…
Improved function & confidence!
At the completion of your treatment, you will better understand your condition, pain will be reduced or eliminated, and you will be equipped with a home program of therapeutic exercise and symptom management techniques. As a result you will be able to more confidently return to activities of daily living, work, and recreation. Additional resources include a series of dietary counseling classes from a registered dietitian, as well as emotional support from affiliated clinical psychologists and marriage and family therapists.
